Tito and Juma's romance in Mombasa

Tito, a Nigerian event planner, travels to Mombasa after finding out her boyfriend has been unfaithful. What was meant to be a romantic break becomes a trip with her best friend. In Kenya she meets Juma, a hotel manager whose approach to life is less tightly planned than Tito's. Their connection introduces a different view of relationships as she reconsiders what she wants next.

The film is built around travel between West and East Africa, not a generic love triangle set in a single city. Mombasa's setting matters because it gives Tito some distance from the expectations surrounding her life in Lagos. Sunshine Rosman portrays Tito, and Brian Abajah portrays Juma. Efa Iwara is credited as Chude and Elma Mbadiwe as Jumaai.

Its cultural mix is part of the film's identity. The project brings together Nigerian and Kenyan actors under Tanzanian director Seko Shamte. Published interviews with the filmmakers emphasise the wish to tell stories across African borders without treating those differences as an obstacle to romance.

Film festival history and 2026 cinema release

East West Love played in the Nollywood Week film-festival circuit before its wider commercial release. Film coverage reported plans for a 9 October 2026 opening in Nigeria, Kenya, Canada and the United Kingdom. Specific countries, exhibitors and showtime calendars need checking separately because a release in one market does not guarantee a nearby screening in another.

Seko Shamte directed the film; its screenplay credits include Sonia Nwosu and Folashayo Oke-Sobo, with the story credited to Abiola Sobo. The film's press coverage identifies Folashayo Oke-Sobo and Dolapo Adeleke as co-producers. Those credits make it useful for readers searching for the film's makers as well as its actors.

A cinema listing is a legitimate route to checking a ticket, but it is not evidence of online streaming rights. As of this guide's check, the verified records concern theatrical access. Readers should not confuse online trailers with an official full movie.
